Preliminary Scores
Preliminary Scores are now posted on Duosmium.
Head coaches will have until Monday, Feb 9, 5:00 PM to submit any score inquiry by emailing
nikkicheung@socalscioly.org. As a reminder,
this period must be submitted by the head coach and is only meant for clerical issues on the
scoreboard (e.g. your team received a no-show when your team was there). Thinking the team
should have gotten a better ranking is not a valid score inquiry.

The SoCal Science Olympiad Team is looking forward to seeing you all at the LA Regional Tournament at Pasadena City College
this Saturday! Here are some reminders and updates before tournament day:
Tournament Schedule
The tournament schedule with event locations is available on our webpage in the downloads section.
Tournament Day Announcements
Check-in will open at 7:15 AM in front of room R121 and team rosters and release forms will be collected.
Impound will also open at 7:15 AM, and devices will need to be impounded at their event locations by a competing student.
Participants will not need wristbands to impound. It is National Science Olympiad's policy that only members of the 15 official
member team can impound.
Parent Volunteer Assignments
Because our tournament is only for Division C, there will be no parent volunteer assignments that teams need to fulfill.
Parking
Cars can park anywhere in any of the available student parking lots at PCC. PCC parking requires a daily parking permit which can be
purchased for $2.00 per day from the yellow parking permit machines located on every level of the parking lots throughout the main
campus. All daily parking permit machines accept $1 bills. Please be sure to follow all signs and do not park in restricted spots.
There will be no bus parking.
Home Bases
Teams are welcome to find a location in the quad to set up as their home bases. Teams are welcome to bring easy-up tents but please note that no open fires are allowed.
Arbitrations
The link to the appeals form has been sent to the head coaches of each team in this communique.
Minor Procedural Issues Contact number
On the day of the event, if there are quick procedural issues, Head Coaches can call (626) 277-9848. Please use this number judiciously to make sure it helps
facilitate the process and not negatively impact it. Quick procedural issues include: Event Supervisor is missing for an event; Event Supervisor is
checking for student ID to let them in, Event Supervisors not allowing certain items that should be allowed, etc. In general, call this number to
get something fixed quickly (not to appeal). Resolving procedural issues is not meant to replace the appeal process that's currently in place.
Photography
Do not photograph or take videos of another team's device without their permission. Event supervisors will enforce this.
Awards Ceremony
The Awards Ceremony will take place at the West Quad starting at 5:30PM.
Preliminary Scoreboard
The preliminary scoreboard for the tournament will be posted on Duosmium after the awards ceremony. Teams will have until 5:00PM Monday,
Feb 9 to submit any scoring inquiries. As a reminder, scoring inquiries must be submitted by the head coach and are only meant for any clerical
issues on the scoreboard (e.g. a team that participated in an event was marked as no-show).
